HISTORY OF SHAM.

Sham, also known as the Levant or the Syrian region, is a geographical region in the eastern Mediterranean that encompasses modern-day Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, and Jordan. The region has a long and rich history, and has been an important crossroads of culture and trade for thousands of years.

The earliest known civilization in the region was the Sumerian civilization, which emerged in the 4th millennium BCE. The region was later conquered by the Egyptian, Hittite, and Assyrian empires, and became an important center of trade and cultural exchange. In the 7th century CE, the region came under the control of the Arab Muslim Empire, and many of the people of the region converted to Islam. The region has since been ruled by a number of different powers, including the Ottoman Empire and the European colonial powers.

Today, the region is home to a diverse population of people from many different ethnic and religious backgrounds, and is an important center of culture, religion, and politics in the Middle East.
