HISTORY OF ANATOLIA.

Anatolia, also known as Asia Minor, is a region located in western Asia and eastern Europe that is now part of modern-day Turkey. It has a long and complex history that spans over 7,000 years.

The earliest known human settlements in Anatolia date back to the Paleolithic era. The region was home to many ancient civilizations, including the Hittites, who established a powerful empire in Anatolia around 1600 BC. The Hittites were skilled metalworkers and engineers, and they built a network of roads and fortifications across the region.

Anatolia was also the home of the ancient Greeks, who established colonies in the region and spread their culture throughout the area. The Romans conquered Anatolia in the 1st century BC and made it a province of their empire.

In the 7th century AD, Anatolia was conquered by the Arab Islamic empire, and many of the indigenous people converted to Islam. The Seljuk Turks, a Turkic people from Central Asia, later conquered Anatolia and established a sultanate there.

The Ottoman Empire, which was founded by the Seljuk Turks in the 13th century, came to dominate Anatolia and much of the surrounding region. The Ottoman Empire lasted until the early 20th century, when it was dissolved after World War I and the modern Republic of Turkey was established.
